remember, MMOs also have expansions, just as GW has extra chapters; you have to take these in account when comparing average prices.

but yes, thanks anet for making a great game with no monthly fees. And yes, I wouldn't have bought it if it had one.

Remember.. when the next expansion comes out (nightfall), you WILL be forced to buy it or fall behind your friends that did, and keep one or two previous games with no further content planned... the old games just die, stop growing.
that true.. but not 100%... you can still be competitive w/o the other "expansions" its not like other rpgs whre YOU HAVE TO BUY THE FRIGGIn THING

English please?

There is no need for multiple threads of the same topic. Doesn't matter who ripped whom off.

Don't forget, WoW also has expansions just like GW, but just less often. Still, it's nice that most quests are only 5-15 minutes long and missions are only 20-45 minutes long. Doesn't take 2-3 hours to do a mission like in WoW...

LOL, do you guys HONESTLY believe what you are saying about Guild Wars here? Do you really believe that there isn't a grind?

I am all for making Guild Wars look better then WoW or EQ1-2, or City of Heroes/Villians, or any other MMOs out there, but let's face reality for a second please.

How many ectos does a set of FoW armor require again? How many shards? 105 of each (120 for warriors and rits). So, going off that... There is MOST CERTAINLY a grind in Guild Wars. Either grind hundreds of hours farming UW and FoW for ectos and shards, or ebay them, both of which are dumb (ebay being even moreso stupid).

So, please, don't make Guild Wars angelic, it isn't. It is still a game, ANet is still taking your money via sales of the game and their online store. I am all for free play per month, but don't take this too far. Remember, Arena Net and NCSoft as BUSINESSES, not charity organizations.

Cheers, Rahja.
